What are the different strengths and variations?

• Illuminize Peel®: A very light peel that is safe for all skin types and helps provide vibrant, radiant looking skin with minimal to no downtime.

• Vitalize Peel®: Safe for most skin types, this chemical peel treatment goes deeper than the Illuminize Peel®. It diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and addresses skin tone unevenness that can be caused by acne scarring or other pigmentary changes. Requires more than 1 session for optimal results.

• Rejuvenize Peel™: Smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for those with moderate to severe skin imperfections. Deeper than the Illuminize Peel® and Vitalize Peel®, you can see noticeable improvement after just one treatment. Requires more than 1 session for optimal results. Not safe for all skin types.

How should I prepare for treatment?

• Avoid waxing, electrolysis, depilatory creams and laser, and injectables like Botox and fillers the 2 weeks prior to treatment

• Avoid things that could be aggravating to the skin such as  aggressive exfoliation, microdermabrasion, etc. 1 wk prior to the treatment

• Avoid direct, prolonged (more than 20 min) sun exposure, including tanning beds, sprays and lotions; using SPF 30 or higher daily, for 2 weeks prior to treatment

• Discontinue use of exfoliants and topicals with active ingredients such as: anti aging and anti acne products including Retin A, Tretinoin, acids and hydroquinone 3 days prior to treatment 

• If you have a history of cold sores, consider beginning prophylactic treatment with Valtrex or similar antiviral no later than the day before treatment.

What are the aftercare instructions?

• Do NOT leave the peel on overnight. Wash your face with a mild cleanser before going to bed

• Do not wear makeup for 24 hours.

• Until peeling has resolved, do NOT peel your skin. Only use a gentle cleanser, a gentle moisturizer and an SPF 30 minimum

• Drink a lot of water 

• For 2 weeks: Avoid direct, prolonged sun exposure (more than 20 min). Your skin will be more susceptible to sunburn, sun damage and hyperpigmentation. Wear a minimum of SPF 30 and reapply throughout the day.

What should I expect during and after treatment?

• Tingling, stinging or burning sensation during treatment and for up to 3 hours after

• Irritation, tightness or redness for up to 72 hours

• If peeling occurs it will begin 48-72 hours post treatment. For the Vitalize Peel®,  it will last 2-5 days. For the Rejuvenize Peel™ it will last for 5-7. These are approximate time frames as everyone's skin is different and reacts differently.

• Some patients do not experience peeling. This does NOT mean you did not get an effective peel. Cell turnover rate is still increased and skin will slough off at a faster rate than normal.
